Dunbar and Boardman is the UK's premier lift consultant firm. Whilst it is preferable to be consulted from the concept of a particular vertical transportation scheme we can advise at any stage, whether it be tender evaluation, supervising the installation programme or witness testing. We are most active in the UK commercial sector and we are also increasing our activities worldwide.

We have been a lift consultant firm since 1981. As part of this work, we can provide a complete survey of existing equipment, a schedule of dilapidation and detail Health & Safety at Work, Code of Practice and current standards requirements. We also provide technical identification of elevator failure, performance evaluation of existing vertical transportation installations, advice on maintenance quality and contractual issues and assessment of new and exisiting installations.

As a lift consultant firm, we provide maintenance management services for lifts, escalators and other vertical transportation projects. New construction, refurbishment and modernisation, survey and report and planning supervision - we can meet all your needs. We were involved in most major retail developments which became active in year 2000.

We also advise on mechanical handling. This area of our business is co-ordinated by Bob French, who was responsible for all aspects of Mechanical Handling at Marks & Spencer, understanding the pressures and demands of the retail environment. We advise on Automatic Doors, Security Gates & Shutters, Fire Shutters, Dock Equipment, Cleaning Cradles, Conveyors and Waste Compactors.

We have undertaken projects and offered advice in numerous cities and countries across the world including: Ankara, Barbados, Dubai, Dublin, France, Guyana, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Jamaica, Monaco and Turkey. International projects supervised from the UK include: Addis Ababa, Kuala Lumpur, Libya, Moscow, Poland and Yemen.

We are increasingly working from conception to completion for Design & Build, Property Management and conventional Architectural-lead schemes. This includes Design Criteria, Computerised Traffic Analysis, Detailed Design, Site Monitoring and Commissioning. We participate in the team process. We act as Planning Supervisors in context to the Construction Design & Management (CDM) Regulations. We are team players and we wear hard hats.
